Health and Well-being Coaching
“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become” Carl Jung
A health and wellbeing coach will help reduce the impact stress has on your body, understand nutrition and help you to become the best possible version of yourself. You shouldn’t leave your health and wellbeing down to chance or ever feel that you have no impact upon your health and wellbeing. In the majority of cases, this simply is not true and having a health and wellbeing coach as an ally can really help you improve your health and wellbeing. I have found my knowledge and gifts in the wellness area has been such a blessing to numerous schools I know. The information has been of benefit to teachers, staff, parents and children alike. As soon as the Covid Pandemic hit, I could see how crucial this work would be in moving forward for us all in ways that could really bless us with good health once more.
Lifestyle choices have over 50% impact upon our health and wellbeing, environmental has over 20%, genetics and body makeup has 16% impact and medical has 10%. This shows that behaviour and lifestyle choices have the biggest impact upon your health. A health and wellbeing coach is a behavioural change specialist who can give you tools to empower you and help you really improve your health, life and wellbeing.
Health and wellbeing coaching deals with you as a unique individual, nutrition, your genetics, previous health history and your relationships and ties them together to help you become the best version of yourself. Health and Wellbeing Coaches believe in the inherent ability of the individual to achieve wellness.
We treat clients in a whole-person way, believe in the clients self- efficacy (your ability to change things for the better within your life and health), we facilitate the clients own process of growth and change and a health and wellbeing coach is a guide and resource who works with you to help support you in the most effective way possible. Health and wellbeing coaching is for anyone who wishes to really empower themselves and take a whole person approach to reaching their full potential.
The difference between coaching and therapy is that therapy deals mostly with a person’s past difficulty or trauma and seeks healing whereas coaching is more goal oriented, deals with a person’s present situation and seeks to guide them into a more desirable future. Both are really valid and important and one does not rule out the other. You need to work out what is right for you. If you are experiencing a lot of overwhelm, feeling unwell emotionally etc. and finding life very difficult to cope with, I would suggest psychotherapy. If you are looking for solutions for yourself, looking to see how best to move forward in life and how to go towards achieveing your health and life goals, I would suggest coaching. Coaching can also be combined with learning meditation skills or learning shiatsu nutritional awareness Shiatsu qi self massage points.

EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping is a form of acupressure based on the same energy points used in traditional Chinese acupuncture, however no needles are used. I will show you how to tap specific acupressure points and use psychology techniques to calm down your nervous system, creating new pathways and pleasant changes for you.
It is ideal for Personal Development and Self-Care. It is often referred to “emotional acupuncture without the needles”. It has been shown to “switch off” the fight or flight response within minutes, reducing the feelings and sensations of fear, anxiety or even anger that commonly arise when a person thinks about something stressful or upsetting. It uses the connection between your emotions and your subconscious to bring about transformation and to go forward in life in positive ways. It has been shown to be effective even in those suffering PTSD and anxiety
EFT involves you tapping on key acupuncture points on the hands, face and chest. The client voices how they are feeling and releases any areas of discomfort in the body in order to clear blockages from a person’s bioenergy system. It restores balance in the body leaving you feeling relaxed and positive.
It has been used successfully with Veterans suffering with PTSD where Emotional Freedom Techniques tapping has been adopted by many VA treatment centers because of its exceptional results.
Unlike acupuncture or shiatsu, which are generally usually used to treat physical ailments, tapping is aimed at emotional healing at the nervous system level.
It can be used on anything and it is generally used to help support those with
- Chronic illness (for e.g. diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue)
- Fears, phobias (public speaking, heights, agoraphobia, spiders etc)
- Limiting Beliefs, Negative patterns and Strategies
